Dr. Khalil A. Abboud is Scientist and director of the X-ray facilities of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Florida. He joined the faculty in August 1990. Before joining the faculty, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at The University of Texas at Austin under the mentorship of professors Raymond E. Davis and Stanley Simonsen. He received his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry (with a minor in Analytical Chemistry) in August of 1985 from Louisiana State University under the supervision of Professor Steven F. Watkins and in association with Dr. Frank R. Fronczek, director of the x-ray facilities at LSU. His Ph.D. work was supported by a full scholarship as a result of placing first in each undergraduate year at the Lebanese National University. His undergraduate studies were also supported by a full government scholarship.
